Christmas Catch up

My Favorite things about Christmas this year....

      I love the spirit that just seems to be present during the month of Dec. (no not one with people fighting over consumer goods.) The spirit of love, joy and peace that most people treat each other with during the month.

     Coming up with gifts for someone who is hard to give to. (that is usually my Dad and Joel's Dad.) I don't think I got Joel's Dad anything wonderful this year, but I think I did with my Dad. Around Thanksgiving I start wondering what I should give, well this year it only took a week or so and then it hit me. My dad does not have a great amount of pictures from his childhood. So I called up my Uncle Mark and he sent me a disc of everything he had on that side of the family. It was so much fun to see all the pictures! (there were so many I had never seen. Honestly when everything was said and done I think my Dad's gift was really for me too! I made him a book (thank you Costco:) ) that printed all the pictures of him and his parents I could find. I loved it. I hope he did too.  I've posted some of the pictures I liked best. I love the one of my Grandparents where he is looking at her. I just think she was beautiful and he was handsome. Also a few of my Dad as a kid and in the Army. 

     My hubby had a week off. Joel has not had a week off solid for I don't know how long? So thank you Rob the boss for going and climbing a mountain in Brazil. (that's how Joel got a week off.) I hope you go on a few more climbing trips this year.
